The Upgraded Specialissima RC

Long the jewel in the Bianchi crown, the Specialissima has received an update that not only makes it super light, but also quantifiably aero, turning the Bianchi Specialissima RC from boutique climbing bike to super-fast all-around racing bike for elite and amateur alike.

Though the Bianchi Oltre RC has been well established as the Italian brand’s aerodynamic hyperbike, raced to many victories at a WorldTour level, the Specialissima RC could very well take the place of the Oltre RC on many wish lists thanks to the fact that it is so epically light while still offering great aero advantages. It can easily be built up to weigh under the 6.8kg limit set by the UCI. And even if that makes it a headache for pro team mechanics who have to find clever ways to add a little weight to the bikes, most of us don’t have to pay attention to silly UCI rules. As the pure racing bike among the Specialissima frame options, the Specialissima RC is made from high modulus carbon fibers that ensure it will be light, stiff, and responsive. It’s a blend that makes it float up the climbs, rail the descents and still slice through the windy flats. The RC in the name stands for Reparto Corse, which has long been the racing division of Bianchi design stretching back to the 1950s.

Designed in conjunction with the frame, the Reparto Corse integrated handlebar/stem fits the system perfectly, offering an essential aero touch while remaining super resilient to withstand the sort of torque heavy pulling on the bars will create, especially if you are prone to test your sprinting prowess. You can also spec the frame with the Reparto Corse RC Carbon 33mm deep wheelset, which have been designed to accompany the build thanks to the lightweight performance and aero efficiency.
