Description
CHAPTER2 KAHA: The Fast Gravel Racer with an Adventurous Spirit
The world of fast gravel just got a whole lot faster with the Chapter 2 KAHA performance gravel racing frame with the soul of an explorer. Super quick and agile, the KAHA also offers a huge selection of mounting points to help you take on the most prestigious gravel races or strike out towards bikepacking nirvana.
Based in New Zealand, Chapter 2 is a small company churning out some of the nicest bikes on the market, definitely putting the big brands on notice. For the KAHA, they have focused on making the ultimate gravel racer that can still fulfill any wanderlust adventure-oriented requirements with equal efficiency. Using super high quality Toray carbon fiber for the frame, Chapter 2 engineers give it a layup that combines a racy responsiveness with a vibration absorption for greater comfort over long distances and rough roads. It’s a perfect bike for anyone with ambitions to race Unbound and then do a multi-day bikepacking trip into the wilderness.
Performance and comfort also meet in the specially designed MANA-GRVL Handlebar. Though the KAHA can accommodate third party stem/bar setup, the MANA-GRVL Handlebar offers a slick option, with fully integrated cabling to improve aerodynamics and a flared shape to enhance comfort and control. Integration doesn’t stop with the cockpit and cabling, though. They have also designed a little protected storage space in the down tube where you can put the Di2 or EPS battery or stash some essential tools.
Storage space is not something you’ll be missing on the KAHA since the Chapter2 designers have provided an exceptional number of panier and bottle mounts for adventure-minded cyclists. With pannier mounting points on the fork and rear triangle as well bento box mounts and up to 5 water bottle cage mounts, this is truly a bike that can keep you self-sufficient for the long haul.
With the ability to take up to 47mm tires for both 700c and 650b wheel sizes, the Chapter 2 KAHA can handle seriously rough gravel with clearance for the muddy build-up. In fact, the fork can handle up to 50mm if you want to go with a mullet option for greater control when plowing through the chudder. And a protective rubber plate on the underside of the down tube will protect the gorgeous paint job from getting dinged by rocks flicked from under the wheels.
Versatile Build Options of the CHAPTER2 KAHA
Somewhat unusually for high-end bikes, the Chapter 2 KAHA allows for versatility in build options. It comes as a frame only, giving you the choice of which groupset and components you want to use. And it accommodates 1x as well as 2x setups, mechanical and electric. The T47 threaded bottom bracket keeps the engine room squeak-free and remains easy to maintain. It’s available in five sizes and two fork rakes: XS, S (65mm offset) and M, L, XL (55mm offset). Once you hop on a Chapter 2 KAHA, you’ll never look back.
