Evil Wreckoning LS - New Iteration Of a Great Mountain Bike

Evil Bikes have long specialized in making epic bikes for killer shredding. The latest iteration of the Evil The Wreckoning LS takes what was already near perfect for a 29-inch enduro/DH rig and makes it just that little bit more seasoned: Lightly Salted.

The original Wreckoning was so good that in the intervening several years, the Evil Bikes engineers just have been making slight tweaks to keep up with what their customers want and what new technology can enhance. If you picked up a Wreckoning after the most recent 2020 update, then you’ll recognize a lot of the Dave Weagle-designed performance and capability increase. The Wreckoning LS still offers the SuperBoost wheels and longer 166mm of travel paired to 170mm forks. It also uses the 65.2° head tube angle in Low mode, and the option of 64.6° in X-Low mode. So far, so similar.

But what the folks at Evil have done is made the bike a touch more utilitarian. For instance, they have designed the shocks to make them easier to work with. So The Wreckoning LS captures the trunnion shock spacers in the DELTA links, which makes it a whole lot easier to change out shocks since you don’t have to fiddle so much with those tiny parts. Similarly impressive is the fact they have spec’d Rockshox Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate shocks as standard.

Adding a touch more spice to the set-up, The Wreckoning LS gets future-proofed with the SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) which is super easy to replace if damaged, and also ensures you will be ready to upgrade to the SRAM next-gen Eagle SL drivetrain if you’d like. We are especially enthusiastic about Evil Bikes new policy that every original owner of The Wreckoning LS can register their new mountain bikes on the Evil website to be eligible for one free set of replacement bearings each year. That’s a real friendly way to make sure your pivots are always popping the way they should, no matter how tough you and your courses are on them.
