Description
Moots Womble - titanium mountain bike for singletrack courses
There’s something so magical about how a titanium hardtail rides that anytime Moots comes up with a new singletrack option, our hearts flutter a little. The Moots Womble is a Ti hardtail designed for 29 inch wheels and ready to tackle the sweetest singletrack courses, whether you find them in the Rockies where the Womble originates or whatever trails you call home.
The lean, clean lines of the Womble’s titanium tubing makes this hardtail look just so sleek and elegant, you will be amazed at how durable the frame really is. Made from an all new and proprietary double butted top and down tube, the Womble’s frame actually offers the widest tube diameter of any Moots. All that translates into the stiffest and most durable front end possible. Paired with the 140mm travel fork, the Womble’s ride not only floats through the gnarliest rock gardens but its ability to track the trail means you will be in total control of every situation. The feeling of control originates in the confidence you feel in your bike, and the Womble will give you oodles of grip with its 29 inch wheels and a frame that can easily support 2.6 inch tires.
More progressive geometry numbers in the Moots Womble
Though Moots are not trend followers, you will notice the geometry numbers are slightly more progressive than some other Moots bikes. That’s not about following fads, but rather they realized that mating the 42mm offset for the 140mm front travel with the 67.2° head angle (67.1° for the two smallest sizes) adds just that extra bit of reach to the front, helping to find the perfect mix of balance, control, and playfulness in the handling. The 434mm chainstays will help the backend have as much personality as the front, so you’ll quickly feel like taking the Womble on the most ambitious trail adventures you can find.
Keeping things straightforward and efficient, the Womble is 1X specific and has been designed to work with the mechanical and wireless SRAM AXS groupsets. They also have a Shimano XT 8100 1×12 prebuild option available. Everyone will be pleased that they have stuck to their tried and true 73mm threaded bottom bracket, while the post mount disc brakes can accommodate 160 or 180mm rotors. The max chainring size is a 32 tooth. Available in four sizes, the Womble will unite the traditionalist and modernist. Named after the iconic Womble trail in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, this is a bike with soul and perfect for an adventurous singletrack devotee.
