The Bold and Confident: Introducing the Passoni XX Ti Disc
There is no doubt that the Passoni XX Ti Disc is not exactly a subtle bike. It screams not only craftsmanship, but confidence. And it will help you churn up a climb or scream down a descent with that same level of skill and sureness.
The disc brake version of the XX Ti has a lot in common with its rim braked twin. The bulk of the frame, including the top tube, down tube, and rear stays have been made using grade 9 titanium worked according to different thicknesses, rigidities, and compliances required for each section. In this way, Passoni can make the top tube, down tube, and rear triangle as responsive as it needs to be for serious riders, while keeping that adored ti compliance.
And then for the down tube, they employ some T800 woven carbon that has been resined in Italy so that the ride quality can benefit from the strength, compliance and durability of high quality carbon. They have lugged the carbon seat tube at the bottom bracket and seat tube/top tube interfaces using grade 9 titanium, though grade 5 titanium is used for the head tube, bottom bracket shell, and dropouts. And the bottom bracket is 68mm English threaded for that classic look and the ability to fit just about any crank option. The head tube is still tapered from 1"1/8 upper to 1"1/2 lower, to provide tons of stiffness which will increase your confidence on any tricky descents, but the fork is customized carbon straight bladed that supports disc braking. Lightweight, offering sharp handling, this is a setup that will make you feel like you have gained a whole new level of skillsets just because the bike will be doing exactly what you want it to.
Experience the Rigidity of the XX Ti Disc
As with the rim brake version of the XX Ti, the default version comes as a integrated seatpost and seat tube, meaning that you will want to have a pretty good idea what your seat height should be. But once you have decided that, you will feel immediately just what a difference that level of rigidity makes when accelerating. Don’t worry about it being an ass hatchet, though since the carbon has been constructed in a way to provide a modicum of vibration absorption, which will be much appreciated on long rides. But don’t worry, if you really don’t want to mess around with an integrated seatpost, a traditional seatpost is also available upon request. In fact, you can customize tons about this bike, from the geometry to the color, the electric shifting and internal rear cable routing, and indeed the paint job.
The Passoni XX Ti Disc is a bike designed for the type of rider who doesn’t mind standing out from the crowd but is most interested in having a bike that will not only ride beautifully but look amazing. It’s a special bike for a special rider.
