The Cinelli Pressure - A Sleek Carbon Racing Machine

Though Cinelli has carved a nice place for itself as a favorite among single speed and retro aficionados, that doesn’t mean that the classic Italian company is not also interested in creating super racing bikes for those serious about moving up their race rankings. The Cinelli Pressure is the latest carbon creation from Cinelli that is intended to be a sleek machine for all sorts of competitive situations, from Saturday group rides to professional races.

Made from Columbus T700 carbon fiber, this monocoque frame has aerodynamics on its mind. Cinelli wanted to create an aero bike that could stand up to all competition when cutting through the wind or racing down technical descents. They have done this by including all the expected aero design features like dropped seatstays, a Kammtail seat tube with a cutout shape to fit the rear wheel in snuggly behind the tube, and an aero shaped downtube.

But much of the excitement is in just how aero and integrated they have made the front end. With the FSA Vision Metron 5D ACR fully integrated handlebar, the leading edge of the frame is as sleek and slick looking as possible. The aero shape of the bars and the fact that all cables are well hidden from the wind will treat you to some free speed. The fork also receives an appropriately aero shape, and ensures precise handling thanks to the focus on rigidity in the layup.

Design Details and Paintwork of the Cinelli Pressure

Thanks to the high quality carbon used, and a clever layup design, Cinelli’s designers have been able to keep this aero creation right in the lightweight ballpark, since a size medium weigh 990 grams and the fork is an impressively light 390 grams, which puts this disc brake aero racing bike well within the league of the biggest hitters in the WorldTour today. But perhaps what makes this a more charming entrant in the race for race leader in the high pressure world of super bikes, the Cinelli Pressure seems to be saying “no pressure” with its playful paint detailing that both recalls a classic Cinelli design with the added joviality of a smiley face that appears on the backside of the fork crown. It’s all just for fun after all, isn’t it?

The Cinelli Pressure comes in five sizes and can accommodate both mechanical and electric drivetrains.
