Description
Litespeed Ultimate Disc - Combining Disc Brakes and Titanium Frame
Combining disc brakes with an expertly constructed titanium frame seems such a natural that there is little doubt that even a diehard rim braked carbon frame aficionado will be quickly converted to the Litespeed Ultimate Disc.
If you are just joining us from reading over the rim braked version of the Ultimate, you will see a lot of similar things. The Ultimate Disc has the same high quality zone shaped 3AL/2.5V titanium tubing that has been individually shaped and designed to suit each part of each frame according to size. That means that Litespeed has made certain to use only the amount of material that each frame size would require. So when you stand out of the saddle and really try to put the power down, you will get the perfect amount of rigidity and feedback according to your bike size, eliminating any wiggliness you may have experienced riding Ti bikes in the past.
And then with the added lateral stiffness that includes through axles with the disc brakes, you will be amazed at how responsive the Ultimate Disc will be. Litespeed designed the frame to accommodate the flat mount disc brakes with 12mm through axle. For a fork, you will have the option to buy the Lightspeed carbon tapered fork, which, along with the 142x12mm rear through axle, offers a tire clearance optimized for 30C tires.
The Ultimate Disc has also been given a nice dash of aero attention, making excellent use of Lightspeed’s expertise in working with titanium. So a truncated airfoil downtube has been married to the quadrilaterally formed top tube to combine to offer a slippery profile to the wind while ensuring stiffness and precise handling. Similarly, the seatstays have been given a, bladed, aeroform design to guarantee both vertical compliance and aerodynamic benefits. Litespeed has also been careful to give the head tube extra butting, to reinforce that high stress areas. And the PF30 bottom bracket ensures that that most important intersecting point can be mega stiff and suit nearly any crankset on the market. The bottom bracket shell is internally and externally butted to save additional weight while beefing up the performance.
Customizable Build and Neat Cable Routing used in the Ultimate Disc
With the option of being able to build up the bike with either electric or mechanical groupsets, you can end up with exactly the bike you want, and all cables will be neatly internally routed to keep the clean crisp lines unsullied by brake and shifting cables. Available in six sizes from XS to XL, as well as the option to go custom with your geo, there will surely be a Litespeed Ultimate Disc that fits your size needs.
Whether you are looking for a bike to enjoy riding over the roughest roads or are simply interested in buying a bike that will ride as nicely 10 years from now as it does on the very first day you take it for a spin, the titanium Litespeed Ultimate Disc will be a dream bike for the long haul.
