Princeton CarbonWorks Mach 7580 Disc - Speed for the Toughest Races

Even if time trial and triathlon bike manufacturers have been the slowest at adopting disc brakes, by now the floodgates have opened and there is hardly a tri-specific or TT/triathlon bike manufacturer who does not accommodate disc brakes. For your top quality racing bike, the Princeton CarbonWorks Mach 7580 Disc lightweight carbon wheels can help you slay the toughest courses to finish with the fastest times.

Founded by a cluster of aerodynamic experts at Princeton University, Princeton CarbonWorks is an interesting addition to the crowded racing wheels market. They unashamedly introduced wheels intended to knock Lightweight off its perch and have had some visible success with that, considering Ineos have been using PCW wheels on special days recently. With the Mach 7580 Disc, PCW is looking to make serious headway into the triathlon and time trial market since performance benefits are many and the pricepoint is remarkably comfortable.

Using the now familiar undulating rim shape, the Mach 7580 Disc offers a deep, but not too deep, profile that varies between 75 and 80mm with an average depth of 77.5mm. It’s not the deepest profile on the market, but it’s still wickedly fast. PCW have made them deeper and faster than their Peak 4550 without losing the precise handling characteristics that the shallower wheelset can boast. One thing that helps the responsiveness, for sure, is that PCW manages to keep these wheels extremely light for the depth.

Tailored Hub Options in the Mach 7580 Disc Wheelset

PCW also offers the Mach 7580 Disc in several hub combos. The weight of the wheels depends on your hub choice, but even with the heaviest the wheels weigh only 1688g and remain a feather 1488g with the lightest combo. That is exceptionally light for a deep dish pair of disc wheels.

Optimized for 25mm tires, the Princeton CarbonWorks Mach 7580 Disc are clincher/tubeless ready. Since they do not drill the spoke beds, you won’t need rim tape, while the hooked bead will give you added confidence that the tires will set securely. If you are serious about your time trialing or triathlon times, the PCW Mach 7580 Disc super light carbon wheels will enhance any race setup you have and help you set the best times.
