Description
Getting the mix right on their aero bike was something the developers at Basso were seriously devoted to doing. Of course, it had to be able to cut effectively through the wind, but it also had to ride well and handle beautifully, like all Basso bikes. Enter the Basso Diamante SV Disc. Especially with the addition of disc brakes, this is THE bike to dream about using to descend down a twisty alpine pass. Balanced and stable no matter the quality of the road surface, the Diamante SV Disc will help you stay in control and love the thrill of it all.
High-Quality Carbon Construction in the Basso Diamante SV Disc Bike
Top quality carbon is a must for a bike like this, so Basso used the T800 and T1000 high modulus carbon fiber from Torayca to get that stiffness to weight ratio that counts for so much in the ride quality. They use carbon sheets with fiber orientations of 0°, 22°,45°, depending on what each particular point of the frame requires, using a tight 3K weave. Knowing how to dose all this out is the craft of the frame maker. The tube shapes are equally important, especially if the aim is aero. The Diamante SV Disc uses the NACA truncated Kamm tail to great effect on the down tube and seat tubes, including their special aero seatpost. It all has a very slick look and feel helped especially by the 3B-BASSO seat clamp system. It uses a triple point fixing method combined with an anti-vibration rubber gusset to secure and cushion the seatpost. If you worry about harsh rides on aero bikes, this patented design will go a long way to saving your bum.
Racing Performance and Comfort of the Basso Diamante SV Disc
This is a racing bike after all, so Basso uses a unique design feature they call their Blade Front that semi-integrates the fork-frame-stem juncture point. It’s a design that really means you can slam your stem if you want, but it comes with a “comfort package” that will allow you to raise your handlebar position by as much as 2cm without losing the rigidity up front and handling characteristics. The rest of the bike has also been designed to offer that ideal balance between playfulness and stability, so you get the tapered headtube, the BB86 press fit bottom bracket, the internal cable routing that can accommodate both mechanical and electronic groupsets.
Flat mount disc brakes complete this package and make the Basso Diamante SV Disc a highly versatile aero road bike that you can either upper your racing game with or roll through hours of Gran Fondo training rides.
